Ruby Barber obituary

Funeral services for Ruby Jane Barber, 77, of Cullman will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 23, 2015 in the chapel of Hanceville Funeral Home, Reverend Paul Campbell officiating.  Interment will follow in Cullman Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6p.m. to 8 p.m.

 

The daughter of the late Albert Daniel & Ola Harris Federer died Tuesday, October 20, 2015. Ruby taught at Hanceville Elementary School for 26 years.  She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association as well as Hanceville First United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. Ruby touched the lives of those around her in profound ways. It was evident that she loved God, her family and her students very much. She devoted her life to teaching others and serving God. Although she is no longer with us, she left us with much love, wisdom and knowledge and for that we are forever grateful. We will keep these special memories with us forever in our hearts.

 

She is survived by her son, Rodger (Debbie) Abbott of Cullman; Stepdaughter, Marie Hartwig of Birmingham; Grandchildren Tonya (Shane) Cupp; Tiffany (Tim) Collins and Eric (Ashley) Hartwig.  Great Grandchildren, Ella Abbott, Hunter Cupp, Elijah Hartwig and Jeremy Barber.  Also surviving is a brother, Rayburn (Sherry) Federer and a host of Nephews and Nieces.  She was preceded in death by her husband, A.B. Barber; Daughter, Camelia Kay Abbott; Step son Wilburn Barber and a brother Jerry Federer.

Bertie Swann Obituary

Funeral Services for Mr. Bertie (B.R.) Swann, 76, of Arkadelphia will be held 11 A.M. Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Reverends Wayne Williams and Paul Campbell officiating. Interment will be in Arkadelphia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Herrell Collins, Chris Peed, Wayne Wolfe, Mitchell Swann, Spencer Swann, Gregory Swann, Jeff Swann and Scotty Talley.  Mr. Swann's family will receive friends at the funeral home  5:30 to 8 P.M. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Arkadelphia Methodist Church or to one's favorite charity.

 

The son of the late Will Tom and Hattie K. Hayes Swann died Monday, October 19, 2015 at St. Vincent's. He is survived by his wife, Kay; son, Keith (Melanie) Swann of Arkadelphia; Son-in-law, Jim Williams.  Grandchildren, Clancey Williams, Wyatt Swann and Will Swann.  Brother, Harce Swann; Sister, Willie B. Wolfe and a host of nephews and nieces.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Williams as well as eight siblings; Gertrude, Flora Mae, Glenn, Barbara, Jessie, Julian, Mitchell and an unnamed infant.

 

B.R. and his wife were long time owners of Swann's Store in Arkadelphia.  He was a proud U.S. Army veteran, a member of the UMW, and the Arkadelphia Methodist Church.

Emmalene Freeman obituary

Funeral services for Emmalene Freeman, 84, of Bremen will be held 3 P.M. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015 at Hanceville Funeral Home, Reverend Wayne Williams officiating. Emmalene, the daughter of the late Edward Jack and Bertha Parker Henson  died Wednesday, October 14^th in Hanceville. She is survived by her son, Robert (Susan) Freeman and a daughter, Donna (Frank) Laratta.  Also surviving are four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren one great great grandson. And a sister, Kathalene Whitlock
