Naomi Mayfield obituary

Funeral services for Ruth Naomi Mayfield, 93, of Walter will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday July 28 at Duck River Baptist Church with burial in the adjoining cemetery, Hanceville Funeral Home directing. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The daughter of the late Lonnie and Nina Morris Bice was preceded in death by a son, Rayburn Nails. Surviving family includes her sons, Kenneth, Dual, and Douglas Mayfield and daughter, Sharon Atkins, 16 Grandchildren, 37 Great Grandchildren, and 14 Great Great Grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Louise Carr.

John Newman Obituary

Mr. John William Newman, of Hanceville, passed away Monday July 16th, 2018. His visitation will be Thursday evening at 5:30 PM, and his service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday July 20th, at Mulberry Baptist Church, with Reverend Dennis Reeves officiating. The interment will follow at Mulberry Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Bethel Newman and Mamie Gertrude Marsh Newman.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Newman, of Center Hill, a son, John Edward (Jennifer) Newman, of Cullman, a daughter Deborah (John) Shelton, of Berlin, 4 grandchildren, Tyler Newman, Madison McBrayer, Chayce Shelton, and Taylor Shelton, 1 Great Grandchild, William Johnson, a sister, Nina Green, of Blountsville, and a brother, Wayne Newman, of Mt. Olive.

Hazel Sullins

 
 
PEORIA ~ Hazel D. Sullins, 89, of Peoria, passed away at 1:02 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018 at UnityPoint Health-Proctor in Peoria.
 
Born January 24, 1929 in Cullman, Alabama to Wes and Maggie (Hovis) Jackson, she married Junior Homer Sullins on August 28, 1947 in Hanceville, Alabama.  He passed awy on January 10, 2017 in Pekin.  She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sons; one daughter; three brothers; and three sisters.
 
Surviving are two daughters, Margaret J. Frantz of Morton and Annette (Dave) Abbott of Bellaire, Michigan; one son, Perry Michael (Brenda) Sullins of Decatur; several grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
 
Hazel had owned and operated My Fair Lady in conjunction with Star Beauty Salon for over 10 years, retiring in 1981.
 
She enjoyed sewing, gardening and loved singing.  Her dog, Shilo was her best friend.
 
Her graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2018 at Hopewell Cemetery in Hanceville, Alabama.  Rev. Truman Davis will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the graveside service at Hanceville Funeral Home.
 
Memorial contributions may be given to the Illinois Special Olympics at 605 E. Willow St. Normal, IL 61761.
