Funeral service for Mrs. Doris Lynn Cason, 59 of Hanceville will be held Friday, January 4, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the Hanceville Funeral Home chapel with Leon Mauldin and Jim Deason officiating. Her family will receive friends Thursday evening beginning at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

 

Doris, a U.S. Navy veteran and homemaker was the daughter of Richard C. and Erma L. Wamsley.

 

She is survived by her mother; Husband, Rick Cason; Son, Rick Cason, Jr. and fiancĂ© Lacey Lynch, Daughters; Krystal Cason and Michelle (Lynn) Talley.  Grandchildren; Abigail Marie Holt and Zaius Byrd. Also surviving is a brother, Richard Wamsley, Jr.

She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Beverly Ritchie.

Services for  Debra Collum, 66 of center Hill will be announced by Hanceville Funeral Home

Funeral service for Lee Roy Henderson, 80 of Walter will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Duck River Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Hanceville Funeral Home directing. He will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to service and the family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening beginning at 6pm.

 

The owner of Henderson's Store in Walter for 50 years was a member of Duck River Baptist Church and a founding member of the Walter Volunteer Fire Department where he served as its chief until 2013 when he retired. He was also a past board member of  Cullman Regional Medical Center.

 

The son of the late W.C. and Nora Henderson is survived by his wife, Wanda; sons, Randall (Denise), Kerry and Clark Henderson; 8 grandchildren, Ross, Luke, Nora, Rebekah, Benjamin, Rachel, Brett and Jessie and also 3 great grandchildren, Zada, Stella and Oliver.

 

In lieu of flowers the family recommends donations to either Duck River Cemetery or the Walter Fire Department.

Funeral service for Mary Ellen Burnham, 81 of Hanceville will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday December 26, 2018 at the Hanceville Funeral Home chapel with family receiving friends at 1:30.  Interment will follow at Fairview West Cemetery.

The daughter of the late Arthur and Ethel Barnett passed away December 23rsd at her residence.  She is survived by her son, Ronny Fulmer and daughters, Regina Fulmer, Patricia Leo and Toni Jenkins.  Also are grandchildren Chris, Matt, Heath, Raven and Garrett as well as a sister, Melba Rucks.

Funeral service for Mary "Jackie" Harbison, 82 of Bremen will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Hanceville Funeral Home chapel. Ronnie McCartney and Bill Hall officiating. Her interment will follow at Cullman City Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening beginning at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

The daughter of the late Leroy and Mary Fields Myers is survived by her husband of 58 years, Vernie Harbison and a brother, Freddie (Carolyn) Myers. She was preceded in death by a brother, Dover (Mable) Myers and a sister, Bobbie (Jim) Price and also an infant sister

In lieu of flowers her family suggests donations Comfort Care Hospice.

Hanceville Funeral Home announces the passing of Helen Marie Barbee, 69 of Hanceville on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at her residence.  The daughter of the late John and Dorothy Bales Graves was a retired CNA who worked at Hanceville Nursing Home.  She was also preceded in death by her husband Loyd "Tee"  Barbee.  She is survived by daughters; Pam (Tony) Hart and Carla (Barry) Gable.  A sister, Tammy (Scotty) Hestla and a brother, Rick (Cathy) Graves.  Also surviving are her grandchildren, Jake (Emily) Gable, Emily (Scotty) Gable, Makala Hart and Brennan Hart as well as 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral service for Elizabeth Elrod, 81 of Hanceville will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Hanceville Funeral Home. Her burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Hanceville.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. prior to services.

 

The daughter of the late Ocie and Maxine Glover Freeman was born May 27, 1937 in Addison and passed in Hanceivlle on December 16, 2018. She was married to the late Brice Elrod who passed in 2001.

She is survived by her children; Donna and Mike Raney, David and Perrie Elrod, Lisa and Don Eggers  and John and Karen Elrod.

Grandchildren; Leslie, Kelley, Stephanie, Miranda, Amanda, Hunter, and Jacob; Eight Great Grandchildren and an aunt Sue  (Kenneth) Freeman..

She was also  preceded in death by a brother, Coleman Freeman.

 

Her family wishes to thank Hospice of Cullman for their love and care. Memorials may be made to them or to one's favorite charity.

"Jimmy" Dean, 73 of Hanceville will be held at 11a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Hanceville Funeral Home chapel, Reverends Dudley Brock and Dennis Reeves officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery.  His family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening beginning at 5:30.

 

Jimmy was a retired Alabama State Trooper and also from the Alabama National Guard.

 

The son of the late Lewis and Una Crauswell Dean is survived by his wife, Patty; Children, Matt (Celette) Dean of Cullman and Michael (Michelle) Dean of Holly Pond, a host of grandchildren and a sister, Faye Ratliff of Hanceville.  He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Alan Dean.

Banes

Mr. Ronald Eugene Banes, 66, of Cullman, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018.

He was born September 10, 1952 to Robert E. and Frances Ruth Shaver Banes.

While living most of his life in the Garden City area, he enjoyed tinkering with old cars.

He is survived by a sister, Linda Easterwood, of Cullman, a brother, Johnny Banes, of Garden City, two nieces, Stacy Easterwood and Stephanie Chambers, two great nieces, Natalee Blair, and Ella Grace Chambers, and a great nephew, Bentley Blair.

Vineyard

Ms. Judy Elaine Vineyard, 67, of Hanceville, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Cullman Regional Hospital.

She was born on May 9, 1951, to Bill and Inez Mikel Moore.

Visitation will be Monday December 10, at 5:30 PM and her service at 7:00 PM, in the Chapel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Virginia Lawdman, and a brother, Randy Moore.

Mr. William Everett Malcom, 78, of Hanceville, passed away at Cullman Regional on Tuesday, December 4, 2018.

He was born June 28, 1940 to William and Mattie Lou Boyd Malcom.

Mr. Malcom was a member of Colony First Church of God, and he was an employee of Tyson for Twenty Five years.

Visitation will be Friday evening at 5:30 PM, at Hanceville Funeral Home, and on Saturday at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church from 12:00 ~ 1:00, with his service beginning at 1:00 PM. Reverend Nicholas Nall is officiating.

He was preceded in death by his wife;  Medora Malcom, and two brothers; Oliver and Donnel Malcom.                 

Survivors include; three daughters, Etta (Billy) Washington, of Warrior, Donna Hardy, of Richton Park, IL., Barbara Turner, of Hanceville, one son, David (Kimmie) Malcom, of Hanceville, six Grandchildren; Jerald, Adam, and Jerrel Malcom, Nyles Hardy, Tamara and Diane Roden, one Great Grandchild, Amiria Malcom, two brothers, J.V. Malcom, and Zether Malcom, four sisters, Letha McKinny, Kathleen Harris, Glenda Hall, and Debra Ward.

Mrs. Jackie Thompson, 81, of Hanceville, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018.

She was born August 14, 1937, to Jack and Lula Woodward Gay.

Services for Mrs. Thompson will be Tuesday, December 4, 2018 with Visitation beginning at 11:00 AM, and her service beginning at 2:00 PM in the chapel. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her Husband, J.W. Thompson, son Timothy Thompson, and daughter-in-law Bess, son Joey Thompson, three Grandchildren, and a brother Randy Gamble.

Survivors include; daughters, Karen (Don) Garner, Gwen (Rick) Headrick, a son Rick Thompson, fourteen Grandchildren, seven Great Grandchildren, and a sister, Jerry Talley.
