Funeral Services for Mrs. Cheryl L. Sileven 65, of Vinemont, AL are Saturday at Twelve O'clock P.M. at Destiny Church with interment following at Holly Pond Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday at Eleven O'Clock A.M. at Destiny Church in Cullman, AL.

Mrs. Sileven is survived by her husband, Charles "Chuck" Sileven; daughters, Kristen (Derek) Phillips and Caylie Barbee, son, Darren (Amy) Sileven, grandchildren; Mackenzie Phillips, Madelyn Phillips and Ava Cowart, brother, Tim Burnett and mother-in-law, Ruth Ann Sileven.

Mrs. Sileven is preceded in death by her daughter Carissa Sileven-Barbee.


Funeral Services for Mrs. Nelda Jean Crawford, of Hanceville, Alabama are Saturday  March 30, 2019 at Ten O'clock A.M. at  Fairview West Cemetery with a grave side service. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 29 at Five-thirty O'Clock P.M. at the Hanceville Funeral Home.


Mrs. Crawford was a L.P.N. at Cullman Regional Medical Center and is survived by her husband Larry Crawford, and son, Randy (Shenandoah) Crawford, a sister Janice McKinney, grandchildren; Randy Crawford Jr. and Liam Garrett Crawford..

     Memorial Services for Mr. James Byron Leslie, 87 of Hanceville will be Saturday March 30, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Hanceville First United Methodist Church.  There will be an Ice Cream Social, at Faith Hall, Saturday immediately following the Memorial Service. 

 

    Mr. Leslie is survived by his wife of 62 years, Martha "Pete" Leslie of Hanceville, AL; his sons, Byron Leslie (Pam) of Hanceville, AL and Howard Leslie (Lacrecia) of Hartselle, AL; his grandsons, Alex Leslie, D.J. Leslie, and Brayden Leslie; Aliya Leslie; sister, Willodean Hill of Fallon, NV, as well as a host of Nieces, Nephews, and extended family.

 

    Mr. Leslie is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Trixie (Waldrop) Leslie; and his brother, Johnnie Alton Leslie.

Hobert M. Scott, age  91 passed away on March 20, 2019 at his Hanceville residence. He was born on August 14, 1927 to Gordon and Beulah (Giles) Scott. Hobert was involved in construction work all of his adult life.

Hobert is survived by his wife of thirty eight years, Gearldean (Boren) Scott. Also two sons, Jerry (Pat) Scott and Keith (Phyllis) Scott. Daughters Wanda (David) Couts and Pam (Walter) Acosta. Hobert was survived by stepchildren; Jana Shelton, Steve (Kelly) Casey and Richard (Gina) Casey and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Also a brother Hubert L. Scott and many  nieces, nephews and many friends.

Hobert was preceded in death by his parents, a son Jim and daughter-in-law Sandra Scott, stepson Joey Casey and brother Edward Scott.

Visitation will be Thursday March 21, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Hanceville Funeral Home. Services are Friday March 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Hopewell Baptist Church. Burial at the adjoining Cemetery.

Funeral services for Elsa H. Arnold, 86, of Hanceville will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with interment following in Catholic Cemetery, Hanceville Funeral Home directing.  Mrs. Arnold's family will receive friends Tuesday evening beginning at 6 p.m. at the funeral home and a rosary will be recited at 7:30 at the funeral home.

          Elsa was born December 26, 1932 in Leeds, Yorkshire County, England and settled in Cleveland, Ohio before moving to Alabama in 2003.  She passed to heaven March 8, 2019 in Cullman, Alabama.  She is survived by children; Ann Arnold, Steven Arnold and Sally Martinez. Also there are five grandchildren, one great grandchild and a brother, Alan Hoare.

Services for Mr. Clyde "Wally" Johnson, 86, of Hanceville will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Hanceville Funeral Home, Reverend Paul Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. Visitation for Wally will be Tuesday evening beginning at 5:30 at the funeral home. He passed away Saturday after an extended illness.

The son of Alex and Willo Pender Johnson is survived by a son, Mike Johnson and a daughter, Misty Viscarri; grandson, William Viscarri; Brother, Walter Johnson and a sister, Faye Fox.  He was preceded in death by brothers Gene, Milton and Alton "Pete" Johnson as well as sisters Betty Kovach and Mildred "Othelia" Briscoe.

Funeral service for Gracie I. Brumblow, 67, of Blountsville will be held at 2p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Hanceville Funeral Home with Reverend Wendell Peterson officiating.  Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Hanceville.  Gracie's family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening beginning at 5:30.

 She is survived by a daughter, Amy (Danny) Whitehead of Holly Pond and a son Terry McCormick of Virginia. Grandchildren are Matthew Whitehead, Adam Whitehead, Rachel McCormick, Jonathan McCormick and Danyael McCormick.  She is also survived by brothers; J.C., Fred and Julius Helms and a sister, Shirley Helms

Funeral services for Mamie Jukes 91, of Colony, will be Saturday March 9 at 1 pm. at the Pleasant Grove Methodist Church. Visitation is on Friday March 8, 2019, 5:30 P.M. at the Pleasant Grove Methodist Church with Reverend James Twilly officiating. Burial will follow in the Colony Cemetery.

Born on March 4, 1928 in Hatchechubbee, Alabama and passed away on March 6, 2019 in Culman, Alabama. Mamie is survived by a daughter Flora (Henry) Aplin of Columbus, Georgia. Grandchildren include Jackie Kindrex, Greta Kindrex, Vera Sherman, Tameka James. There are twelve great grandchildren and eighteen great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter Annie Kindrex.

Funeral Services for Christine Tolbert Smith, 91, of Arkadelphia will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Valley View Baptist Church in Arkadelphia with Reverends Tim Barnett and Phillip Starnes officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

            The daughter of Oscar and Elmer Pugh Tolbert was born November 11, 1927 in Cullman County and passed away March 4, 2019 in Hanceville, Alabama.  She is survived by her children; Lavon (Jo) Smith, Leon,(Sandra) Smith, Rickey Smith, Michael (Martha) Smith, Greg (Teresa) Smith, Kendall (Glenda) Smith and Preston (Elizabeth) Smith.  15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild Arielle White.  Also survinv is a sister, Estelle Black.  She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Garner Smith and a son, Chris Smith.

Funeral services for Linda M. Barksdale, 76 of Garden City will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the Hanceville Funeral Home chapel. Reverend Trueman Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Garden City Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 5:30 until 8 p.m.

Originally from Franklin County, Alabama Linda and husband, Troy made their home and raised their children in Garden City.

            The daughter of the late Benjamin Ray and Lillie Mae Hindman Knight is survived by her husband Troy; children Cindy (Tony) Mallard, Karla (Kent) Williams, and Greg (Shelia) Barksdale; Six grandchildren and four great grandchildren

            Memorial donations are suggested to be made to the Alzheimers Association in Linda's name.

Funeral services for Helen Lavern Taylor, 92, of Hanceville will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at Bethlehem East Baptist Church. Rev. Russ Fox and her grandson, Joby Crane officiating, with interment in the church cemetery. Hanceville Funeral Home directing. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening beginning at 6 p.m.

Mrs. Taylor was called home by her Creator and Lord on Sunday, March 3, 2019. She was born July 21, 1926 to Clarence and Ollie Miller Bailey. In 1945 she married Henry Leslie Taylor. They enjoyed over 70 wonderful years together, raising seven children. She was a loving wife, mother and long-time member of Bethlehem East Baptist Church.

Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers.

She is survived by sons Larry (Linda) Taylor, Garry (Jan) Taylor, and Bobby (Kim) Taylor; daughters Joyce Scott, Linda (Dr. Joe) Crane, Terri Taylor and Janie (Tony) Novara; sisters Mildred (Thomas) Graves, Ola Mae Callahan and Evelyn Tucker; twenty-one grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, one great-great-grandson and a host of nieces and nephews.

            In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Taylor Family Endowment Scholarship at the Business School at Auburn University (317 College St. Auburn, AL 36489).
