Funeral Services for Ealon A. Linkous, 78, of Cullman, AL will be 11 O'clock A.M. Monday December 30, 2019 at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Valley Springs Cemetery. The family will welcome guests for a visitation from 5:30 P.M. until 8 O'clock P.M. Sunday December 29 at Hanceville Funeral Home.

Mrs. Linkous was self-employed and owned and operated Valley Grove Grocery. She is the daughter to the late Wendell and Novel (Hancock) Kugler.

Mrs. Linkous is survived by her four children, Randy Hollis, Mitch Hollis, Kelly Hollis and Tracey (Wayne) Reburn; grandchildren, Kyle, Taylor, Nathan, Stephanie and Tori Hollis; great-grandchildren, Hudson, Cason, Lorelai, Dakota, Colten and Caleb Hollis; brothers, Guy Kugler and Stan (Diane) Kugler.

Mrs. Linkous is preceded in death by her husband John T. Linkous and two brothers, Terry and Marshall Kugler.

Memorial Services for James Michael "Jimmy" Johnston, 59, of Hayden, AL will be 11 O'clock A.M. December 28, 2019 at Charis Community Church located in Hanceville, Alabama with services led by Reverend Randy Mahaffey.

Mr. Johnston was a supervisor for Willoughby Roofing for many years. He enjoyed working and spending time with his loving family. Mr. Johnston will be missed by many.

Mr. Johnston is survived by his grandson Ryan Johnston; step-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Gavin, and Chaz; siblings; Linda (Brad) Reinhold of Turlock, CA, David (Ginger) Johnston of Vinemont, AL, Marsha Price of Holy Pond, AL, and Diane (Jeff) Wright of Hayden, AL.

Mr. Johnston is preceded in death by his son Michael Johnston, sister Carolyn Johnston and his parents Joseph and Annie (Tolbert) Johnston.

Memorial Services for Larry Vail Hall, 33, of Hanceville, AL. will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday December 28, 2019 at Hanceville Funeral Home.

Mr. Hall was a selfless and compassionate individual who loved nothing more than to be surrounded by the family and friends he thought so highly of. Mr. Hall was an employee of TQI where he worked as a box handler for several years. His job was his passion and he desired nothing more than to be at work everyday. He was a huge Alabama Football fan and loved his president, Donald J. Trump. Mr. Hall is loved and will be missed by everyone.

Mr. Hall is survived by his parents, Larry Hall Sr. and Tamela Hall; siblings, Demetrus Hall, Jasmine Hall and Timothy Cook; aunts and uncles, Deryll (Yvonne) Thomas, Marie (Charles) Turner, Sonja (Charles) Morrison, Gregory Thomas, Yevette (Dennis) Wolfe, Sandra Thomas, Lewis (Jackie) Thomas, Sherrell Ervin, Michelle Hall, Shereal Hall, Jeffrey Hall, Thomas Hall and Laverne Davis; niece Everleigh Smith; nephew Bryson Smith; and a host of many cousins.

Mr. Hall is preceded in death by his grandparents Eugene & Maude Thomas and Tommy & Sallie Hall.

Funeral services for Martha Ann White, 78, of Hanceville, AL. will be 2 O'clock P.M. Friday December 20, 2019 at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Hanceville. The family will welcome friends for a visitation from 6 O'clock P.M. to 8 O'clock P.M. Thursday December 19, 2019.

 Mrs. White was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and business owner. Mrs. White owned and operated Martha White's Kitchen located in Phelan. From there she relocated and started Garden City CafĂ©. Cooking was her passion. She enjoyed prepping, cooking, and serving hot meals to anyone who walked through her doors; especially those she loved so dearly within the Hanceville and Garden City communities. Everyone that knew Mrs. White knows she was a beautiful and loving woman and will be missed by many.

 Mrs. White leaves behind her two children Rhonda (Marlowe) Jett and Stephen Harold White; three grandchildren, Christopher Harold Purdy, Jessica Ann White, and John Paul White; seven great grandchildren including Madelyn Elizabeth Purdy who was always known as "Maw Maw's Boss Lady"; three siblings, Myra Estes, Faye Brown and James Murcks as well as a host of loved nieces and nephews.

 Mrs. White is preceded in death by her husband Harold White; siblings, Milton Murcks, Ola Taylor, Magdeline England, Jimmy Murcks and Jerry Murcks; and parents Melvin and Etta (Smith) White.

Funeral services for Maxie "Max" Arnell Doty will be 1 O'clock P.M. Saturday December 14, 2019 at Riverside Baptist Church located in Hanceville, AL. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will welcome friends for a visitation prior to the service beginning at 10 O'clock A.M. at Riverside Church. Mr. Doty was born June 8, 1946 and died December 11, 2019

Mr. Doty grew up in Cullman County and spent the majority of his life within the Walter Community. He had a strong love for his community and was involved with several activities including being on the water board and working with the Walter Fire Department for many years. Mr. Doty retired from Greif Brothers also enjoyed being on his farm where he raised poultry and cattle. Mr. Doty was a generous and kind hearted man. He loved being able to get out and help his neighbors in time of need. Mr. Doty will be missed very much by several family members and his community.

Mr. Doty is survived by his wife of many years, Frances Doty; sons, Jason, Brandon (Shannon), Ashley (Sara) Doty; grandchildren, Zachary, Olivia, Alyssa, and Carter Doty, his brother, Terry Doty; his mother Ruth Doty; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Mr. Doty is preceded in death by his father, Verbon Doty; sister-in-law, Sandra Doty; mother & father-in-law Margaret & Robert F. McGukin; brother-in-law, Robert E. "Bob" and sister-in-law, Mary Rose McGukin; and a niece Carla H. Weldy.

Mrs. Cofield is survived by her two children, Bethany and Colyn Cofield; siblings, Brad, Julie, and Anthony Hamilton; parents, James and Debra Hamilton; niece, Adeline Hamilton; nephew, Owen Hamilton; fiance, Josh Jackson; and a host of many aunts, uncles, extended family, and friends.

Mrs. Cofield is preceded in death by her grandparents, Ernest A. and Marvorene Hamilton and Delos and Alice Schuldt; and a brother Brad Schuldt.


Graveside services for Nadene Hitt, 87, of Hanceville, AL. will be 2:30 P.M. Wednesday December 11, 2019 at Mt. Zion Nazarene Cemetery in Blount County, AL. The family will welcome guests for a visitation from 1 O'clock P.M. to 2 O'clock P.M. at Hanceville Funeral Home. Reverend Phillip Sessions will be officiating.

Mrs. Hitt is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hitt is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Elise (Harris) Holcomb; husband, James G. Hitt; children, Deborah Faye, Charlotte Lorenne, and James Keith Hitt; and sisters, Ruth Gartman, Jewl Hitt, Geneva Hewitt and Virginia Little.

Ms. Marion "Mike" Purifoy died peacefully in the hospital on Friday, December 6, 2019 in Cullman at the age of 86. Marion is survived by her children, Darrell Anthony Purifoy (Lynda) of Lutz, Florida; Casandra Purifoy of Colony, Alabama, Michael Purifoy of Lawrenceville, Georgia; Steven Perry of Gardendale, Alabama, and Katie (Brian) Porterfield of Conyers, Georgia; six siblings, Arnell Williams of Los Angeles, CA, Delores Anderson of Nashville, TN, Willard (Dr. Joan) Boyd of Youngstown, OH, Carrol Craig of Cleveland , OH, Evelyn Howard of Colony, Alabama and Roger (Jackie) Boyd of Colony, AL; Wilbur Brown of Birmingham, Alabama ; Robin Ridgeway and Joann (Otis) Minnitt of Colony , Alabama; Leroy Purifoy of Fultondale, Alabama and a host of nieces and nephews, friends and extended family.

She is preceded in death by her son William Henry Purifoy and daughter Mavis Joyce Purifoy; her brothers Melvin Boyd and Cecil Boyd; her sisters, Burgess Boyd, Vivian Allen, Margaret Taylor, Janice Grier and Emma Jean Robinson and grandson, William Maurice Purifoy and great-great granddaughter Journee Rose Pruitt.

Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in West Point, AL. The family will welcome friends for a visitation from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. November 30, 2019 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jones was retired and spent many years in the nursing field. She is the daughter of the late Dale and Ethie White Johnson.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her most beloved dog Toby; her children, Kenneth Langley, Calvin Langley, Geraldean Smith, Eugene Langley and Brian Jones; step-children Randall Jones, Eugene Jones, Milton Jones, Michael Cason, and Diane Floyd; twenty-eight grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; a sister, Shelby Baker; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Jones is preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Jones and sisters, Robbie Lou Green, Wavely Norton, Jo Ann Doty, and Mary Glenn Cole.

Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery located in Arkadelphia. There will be a visitation prior to the service beginning at 12 O'clock noon.

Mrs. Doss is the daughter of the late Clarence and Wilma Davis Brock.

Mrs. Doss is survived by her son, Bryant Keith (Ellen) Doss; grandchildren, Maggie Doss and Ben Doss; siblings, Dudley (Frances) Brock, J.C. (Ann) Brock, Donald (Marlane) Brock, Cathy Murphree, Peggy (Bill) Walker; a sister-in-law Carlista Brock; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
