CORRECTED OBIT

Funeral services for Jack Brown III, 42, of Cleveland, Alabama will be 12 O'clock P.M. Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Chris Gortney will be officiating. Burial will follow the service at Moulton Memory Gardens in Moulton, Alabama. The family will welcome guests for a visitation from 6 O'clock P.M. to 9 O'clock P.M. Tuesday, July 28th at Hanceville Funeral Home.

 

Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Andrea Brown; children, Austin Smith, Hannah Steele, Megan Jetton, Kadince Kilgo, and Justin Brown; step-children, JulieAnn Kilpatrick, Abby-Jo Horton, and Matthew Horton; grandchildren, Lily Steele and Asteria Steele; brothers, Kyle (Erin) Brown and Lee (Katie) Brown; sister, Angela Manley; a host of nieces and nephews; mother and lather in-law; three brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law and most importantly his best friend, Mark "Turbo" Rogers.

 

Mr. Brown is preceded in death by his parents, Jack Brown II and Elizabeth (Manley) Brown.

Margaret Akin of Hanceville, Alabama will be having a visitation at Hanceville Funeral Home Wednesday, July 22, 2020 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:15 P.M. with the rosary following from 7:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A mass will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at 10 O'clock A.M. at Sacred Heart Church in Cullman, Alabama and will be led by Fr. Patrick Egan.

In loving memory of Ricky Thompson, 66, of Hanceville, Alabama. Ricky was born March 14, 1954 in Cullman County to the late J.W. and Jackie Thompson.

He enjoyed Alabama football, Nascar racing, cooking, his job as a machinist, and most of all he loved his family.

Ricky is survived by Gwen Headrick, sister, Karen (Don) Garner; and a host of wonderful nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ricky is preceded in death by his daughter, Amy J Thompson; and brothers, Tim (Bess) Thompson and Joey Thompson.

The family has elected cremation and will announce a memorial service at a later date.

The family of Mrs. Watkins will be having a private graveside service. She is survived by her children, Brenda Bolden of Pensacola, FL, Danny Bolden of Hanceville, AL, Ronny Bolden of Covington, LA, and Tracy Bolden of Madison, AL; twenty-one grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

Mrs. Watkins is preceded in death by her children, Ray Bolden, Johnny Bolden, Arlene Arris, Carolyn Hillis, Billie Bolden, and Freddie Bolden.

On Sunday, July 19, 2020, Margaret Ann Connors Akin, 89, while being lovingly cared for at Hanceville Nursing Home and Rehab Center for three years, went to join her husband of forty-nine years, William E. Akin, in Heaven. Mrs. Akin was born in Massachusetts and came to Alabama after serving in the United States Air Force and meeting her husband. While living here, Aunt Marge used her musical ability to sing in her church choirs such as Sacred Heart Catholic Church Choir in Cullman, Alabama, and to sing as a member of Harmony Hills Sweet Adelines for many years.

 

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Akin, her parents, John and Ann Connors; in-laws, J.A. and Irene Akin, sister-in-law, Peggy Akin Peed; and her brother and sister-in-law, John and Mary Connors. She is survived by her brother-in-law Gary (Linda) Akin and a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside service for Ruth E. Garner 92, of Garden City will be held 10 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2020 at Hopewell Cemetery in Hanceville with  Reverend Fred Rivers officiating.  Hanceville Funeral Home directing.  Ruth's family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening 6 until 8.

          The daughter of the late L.T. and Pearl Hudson Cobb was born in Hanceville on May 31, 1928. She was the widow of the late William Garner.

She leaves behind daughters; Elaine (Richard) Queen of Cullman and Ann (Gerald) Alvis of Huntsville.
Eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and a brother, James Cobb of Garden City.
           Preceding her in death was a son, Arthur Garner, Jr. and a brother, Oneal Cobb.

Graveside service for Angela "Angie" Jones Mardis 70, of Hanceville will be held at 2 P.M. on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Fairview West Cemetery with Rev. Truemann Davis officiating. Hanceville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Angela passed away on Saturday, July 11th at CRMC. She was preceded in death by her parents; Margaret and Grady Jones, Sister; Dona Jones Lucas and brothers; Jerry and Keith Jones.

Survivors include her husband Dwight Mardis, Sons; Barry and Michael (Alexis) Mardis; sister, Joni (Steven) Smith and grandchildren; Olivia and Samuel Mardis and step grandson Alex Lloyd.

Graveside services for Floyd Flanigan, 60, of Hanceville will be 1:30 P.M. Friday July 3, 2020 at Colony Cemetery in Colony, Alabama. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Friday at Hanceville Funeral Home.

 

Mr. Flanigan is survived by his son, Tyler Jermain (April) Sellers; two grandchildren; sisters, Sylvia (Albert) Turner, Yaminah (Reginald) Ward, Delphine (Eric) Powell, Vanessa (Rick) Flanigan, and Jennifer (Albert) Twitty; brothers, Anthony (Lois) Flanigan and Joe Nathan Coleman; mother, Mary Flanigan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

Mr. Flanigan is preceded in death by his father, Floyd E. Flanigan.
