Funeral services for Carrie Mae Miller, 76, of Hanceville, Alabama will be 12 O'clock Monday, August 31 at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Johnson's Grove Cemetery in Brushy Pond. The family will welcome guests for a visitation from 11 O'clock A.M. to 12 O'clock P.M. prior to the service on Monday at the funeral Home.

 

Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband, Onie Miller; children, Candie Miller (Tim Ezell) and Amanda Miller; grandchildren, Bailey Ezell, Tyler Fowler and Josh Martin; siblings, Edward (Peggy) Bailey, Paul (June) Bailey, Marlin (Charlotte) Bailey, Perry (Aimee) Bailey and Audrey (Randall) Davis; and a host of nieces and nephews.

 

Mrs. Miller is preceded in death by her parents, Cordie and Martha (Crawford) Bailey; and brothers, Rayford, Roy, and Wayne Bailey.

Funeral services for Joyce V. McNutt, 91, of Hanceville, Alabama will be 2 O'clock P.M. Sunday, August 30, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hanceville. John Jankins will be officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery.

 Ms. McNutt is survived by her nieces and nephews, Neil Crow, JoAnn Powell, John Crow, David Crow, Charles McNutt Jr., Henry McNutt, Brian Anderson, Patty McNutt, Al McNutt, Mary Jo Lakin, Bill Peinhardt, Cindy Gonstad, Chris Gropp, Amy Harley, and John McNutt; a brother, W.C. Peinhardt; and a sister-in-law, Frances McNutt.

 Ms. McNutt is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Edith (Burkart) McNutt; and siblings, Alice Crow, Charles McNutt, Eleanor Anderson, Edwin McNutt, James McNutt, and Dorothea Peinhardt.

 In Lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Hanceville, The American Cancer Society, and Auburn University.

Funeral services for Lessie Kilgo, 94, of Crane Hill, Alabama will be 2 O'clock P.M. Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Bethany Baptist Church in Crane Hill. Reverend Thomas Reeves will be officiating. Burial will follow after the service at Ryan's Creek Cemetery in Brushy Pond. The family will welcome guests for a visitation on Saturday prior to the service beginning at 1 O'clock P.M. at Bethany Baptist Church. Please wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines.

 

Mrs. Kilgo is survived by her children, Jan (Earl) Parker, Teresia (Billy) Morrow, and Buddy (April) Kilgo; grandchildren, Amy (Phillip) Stancil, Tina Parker, Andrea (James) Phillips, Steven (Lauren) Morrow, Jack Kilgo, and Addie Kilgo; great-grandchildren, Kaitlin (Shawn) Tankersley, Stone Phillips, Logan Stancil, Breeze Phillips, Addox Morrow, Daisy Phillips, Eden Stancil, Joy Phillips, and ZuZu Phillips; and a brother, Oather Phillips.

 

Mrs. Kilgo is preceded in death by her husband, Laverne Kilgo, brothers, Luther and Lawrence Phillips; sisters, Carolyn Needham and Lucille Tanner; and parents, Isaac and Millie (McCurley) Phillips.

 

The family of Lessie Kilgo would like to send a special 'Thank You' to all of the staff at Hanceville Nursing Home for all of their love, support and comfort that was selflessly given to Mrs. Kilgo during her residency at the nursing home.

Funeral service for Wanzell Marie Holmes, 87, of Hayden will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday August 29, 2020 at Hancevlle Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Graves Gap Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday beginning at 1:30.

 Wanzell, the daughter of Ezra and Vida Jacobs Graves died Tuesday, August 25th in Plano, Texas where she had been living with her daughter for the past few years. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred and is survived by her daughter Gayla (Steve) Zabriski of Plano, Tx. Grandchildren; Morgan  Hornung of Colorado Springs, Co. and Erin Zabriski of Plano. Great grandchild Avery Hornung;  a brother, Billy Ray (Nelda) Graves of Hayden; niece, Marylyn Armstrong; nephew Michael (Cathy) Graves and a great nephew, Trevor Armstrong.

Peacefully and surrounded by her family, Thelma Hicks Arnold passed away on Saturday, August 22nd at the age of 95 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her son: Doug (Melissa); grandchildren: Daxon, Whitney, Forrest, and Julie; 5 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Herbert; son, Elwin; grandson, Frank; brothers, James and Oliver; sister, June; and her parents: Charles and Henrietta Hicks.

Thelma was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Cullman, where she made many life-long friendships, was known for her awesome cooking and beautiful garden, and played a mean golf game, too! She was an extremely loving and doting mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who, along with her late husband, served as model examples of hard work ethic and genuine Christian values. Her down-to-earth, sweet nature touched everyone who knew her and we're so grateful God blessed us with her life.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at 10:00 a.m., at Cullman City Cemetery, 821 Lessman Cir SW, Cullman, AL 35055.

Funeral services for Sidney H. Aaron, 70, of Cullman, Alabama will be 2 O'

Clock P.M. Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at New Prospect Baptist Church. Reverend Doug Pitts will be officiating. The family will welcome guests for a visitation at the church prior to the service beginning at 12 O'clock P.M. on Wednesday.

 

Sidney was a member of The United States Army. He also worked as a coal miner for Drummond Coal Company where he then retired.

 

Mr. Aaron is survived by his wife, Marnice Aaron; children, Tonya (Kelly) Dunn and Sidney Brent (Rhonda Michelle) Aaron; grandchildren, Mackenzie Dunn, Sean (Brooke) Dunn, Peyton Dunn, Sidney Clayton Aaron, and Emily Aaron; and siblings, Irene Shelton, James Aaron, Evelene Bobo, Norma Jean Baker, Carolene Teichmiller, and Kathlene Milligan.

 

Mr. Aaron is preceded in death by his parents, Arlis and Norene (Rhodes) Aaron and a brother-in-law, Clyde Shelton.

Funeral services for James R. (J.R.) Criddle, 90, of Hanceville will be held at noon on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Hanceville Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Ensley at 2 p.m.  J.R.'s family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home (please wear mask).

He was born March 9, 1930 in Houston, Ms. He spent his working life as a truck driver for grocery companies.

Surivors include his wife, Wilma.

Daughters; Peggy Chrietzberg, Barbara Whetstone, Carolyn Gragg, Patricia Nail, Terri Russell and Missy Armstrong.  Step children; Donna Oliver, Danny Breedwell and Terri Tice.

Grandchildren are Maggie Maxwell, Dakota Russell, Melissa Chrietzberg, Ginger Lloyd, Summer Ponce, Jessica Nail and Justin Nail. Step grands are Chris Hicks, Brandon Hicks, Todd Hammock, Beth Steele, Kristy Kulver, Cassie Sherdon and Tia Sharpe.  There are also numerous great grandchildren.

Siblings include; Erlene Jackson, Kat McPike, Sarah Allen, Ervin Criddle and Thomas Criddle.

He was preceded in death by siblings; Ruth Robertson, Lou Graham and Joe Ben Criddle and a grandson Robbie Chrietzberg.

Funeral service for Mrs. Flossie Myrl Dyer of Hanceville will be held at noon on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Hanceville Funeral Home with Reverends Chris Barnett and Tony Tidwell officiating. Interment will follow at Cullman City Cemetery.  Mrs. Dyer's family will receive friends from 10 am until funeral time.

Myrl, the daughter of J.W. and Lena Gibson Byars was born in Morgan County and was the long time manager of the Hanceville Senior Citizens Center.

Surviving family includes her children; Ray Dyer of Clarksville, Tn. and Michelle Smith of Rome, Ga. Grandchildren; Clay McAnnally, Travis Melton, Heath Dyer and Sarah Dyer.  Great grandchildren are Savannah, Prisca and Brian McAnnally.  Also surviving are a sister, Shirley Nuss and brothers; Rex and Roger.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William; Daughter, Sandy McAnnally; grandsons, Jared McAnnally and Blair Dyer as well as sisters, Jimmie Lou Peek and Margaret Ann Speegle.


Graveside service for Lou Ann Willcutt, 68, of Crane Hill will be held at 3 pm Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Holly Pond Cemetery with Glynn Griffith officiating. Her family will greet friends at the cemetery.  Mrs. Willcutt died Saturday, August 1st at her residence.

The daughter of the late Lake and Flora Hanvey Sims was born in Cullman on February 16, 1952.  She leaves behind her husband, Julius Willcutt; Daughters, Greta (Kevin) Lynch of Logan and Niki Willcutt of Trimble.  Grandchidren; Laken (Glynn) Griffith, Chase Lynch, J.J. Henke and Justin Henke.  Great grandchildren are Canaan, Winry, Samuel and Arwynn Griffith.  She is also survived by her sister Nancy Gwen Drinkard of Eva.
