Correction

Funeral service for Betty Carol Price, 78 of Hanceville, will be on Sunday, February 28 at 2:00 P.M. at Riverside Baptist Church with Buddy Jackson and Wendell Peterson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday, February 27 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Hanceville Funeral Home.

Mrs. Price was born April 4, 1942 in Cullman County to Joseph Henderson Hammock and Bessie Florence Ryan Hammock. She passed away February 25, 2021 in Athens. She worked as an RN.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband James Price; brother Joe Ray Hammock; and sister Faye Hammock.

She is survived by her daughters Kathryn Green (Tony) and Hilda League; sister Sandra Duren; grandchildren Kaitlin Purser (Zack), Chris McDowell, and Tammy Wilson; great grandchildren Easton James Purser, Hunter McDowell, and Hannah McDowell; godson Kliff Minor; niece Rhonda Duren Calvert; great niece Reagan Calvert; and a host of other family and friends.

A funeral service for Gwendolyn F. Headrick, 83, of Hanceville, Alabama will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 19, 2021 at Mountain Grove Congregational Christian Church in Hanceville. Pastor Jason Reeves and Dr. Ralph Andrews will be officiating. Burial will follow the service at Garden City Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church prior to the service beginning at 12:30 P.M.

 

Mrs. Headrick is survived by her son, Danny (Joy) Harris; daughter-in-law, Laura Harris; grandchildren, Jake (Jessica) Harris, Derek (Keisha) Harris, and Anna (Wes) McSwain; great grandchildren, Dani Harris, Willow Harris, Mabry Harris, John Vance Harris, Peyton McSwain, and Audrey McSwain; a brother, Bruce (Jeanett) Clark; sister-in-law, Etta Clark; and a host of many nieces, nephews, and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius B. Headrick; son, Johnny Harris; and her brother, Buddy Clark.

Funeral services for Dorothy L. King, 71, of Hanceville, Alabama will be at 1 O'clock P.M. Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Center Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 11 O'clock A.M.

 

Mrs. King is survived by her children, Dewayne King and Michelle King; siblings, Steve (Gail) Owens, Anthony Owens, and Timothy (Linda) Owens; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Azzlee Owens; father, Howard Lloyd; and siblings, Margaret Lloyd, Charles Lloyd, and Patricia Brown.


A private family service will be held Saturday, February 20, 2021 for our precious mama, sister, and friend Mary Frances Ballard Creel, 84, of Hanceville. Her nephews, Chris Barnett and Jon Creel will be officiating, with interment at Bethlehem East Cemetery.
Mrs. Creel passed away Friday, February 12th at Monarch Place, Hanceville, her home of 6 years. She was born August 15, 1936 to Wilson and Sula Ballard of Hanceville.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of 61 years, Leo Creel.
She is survived by children Barry Blackburn-Creel of Dallas TX and Amy (Rex) Smith of Cullman, grandchildren Mary Claire and Ben Smith. Sister, Connie (Fred) Barnett of Hanceville. Also, many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Funeral service for Melvin Wallace Miller, 82 of Hanceville will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 15, 2021 in the chapel of Hanceville Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

 

Mr. Miller was born December 10, 1938 in Cullman County to Dewey Russell Miller and Mary Plumer Latta Miller. He passed away February 12, 2020 at his residence. He worked as a technician for AT&T.

 

He is survived by his wife Wanda Miller; children Vicki Hale, Candy Parks, and Dale Pitts; brother Carlis Miller; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

Graveside services for Byron H. Smith of Hanceville will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Riverside Cemetery in Hanceville.

 

Mr. Smith was born in Birmingham, Alabama on January 13, 1987 to Berney and Donna Smith. He died unexpectedly at the age of 34 on February 9, 2021. Byron was an amazing individual who would go above and beyond for anyone in need. Mr. Smith had a heart felt passion for teaching children and loved his colleagues just as much. Above all, he loved his wife and daughters. He will be deeply missed by his entire family, friends, co-workers, and students.

 

Survivors include his wife, Meg Smith; daughters, Amelia and Callan Smith; a niece, Oaklee Chambers; his sister, Ronda Chambers; parents, Berney and Donna Smith; grandmothers, Ruth Smith and Mable Eddy; and mother-in-law, Nan Slaven.

 

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Bobby Smith and Fritz Eddy; first cousin, Jonathan Walls; father-in-law, Tim Slaven; and brother-in-law, Damon Chambers.

Mrs. Welch is survived by her children, Ashley Welch and Amanda Welch; a granddaughter, Ryleigh Welch; a sister, Linda Candill; 2 brothers, Mike and Bob Maupin; and a host of nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Welch, granddaughter, Kameren Cunningham; and parents, Ralph and Reathel (Allums) Maupin.

Mrs. Stone is the daughter of Milford and Ila Mae (Tucker) Rouse who was born on April 14, 1955. She died February 8, 2021 at the age of 65 in Birmingham, Alabama.

 

Linda is survived by her sons, Lawrence R. (Karla) Stone Jr., Ronald A. (April) Stone, and Jonathan E. (Jenny) Stone; grandchildren, Kayla D. Stone, Lawrence R. (Kayla) Stone III, Taylen Stone, Miranda E. (Kody) Lee, Heather E. Stevens, Leathel Drake (Taylor) Stone, Emma (Jake) Robertson, Olivia Farris, and John Cade Stone; great grandchildren, Kollins, Karolina, Lawrence R. IV, and several others; her mother, Ila Mae Rouse; 2 sisters; and 2 brothers.

A graveside service for Jean McAnnally of Hanceville will be 1 O'clock P.M. Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Hopewell Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 11 O'clock A.M. at Hanceville Funeral Home.

 

Mrs. McAnnally is the daughter of the late James and Harriet (Entriken) Armstrong. She was born October 19, 1936 in Blount County and died at Cullman Regional Medical Center on February 6, 2021 at the age of 84.

 

Survivors include her husband, Sam McAnnally; sons, Stephan (Renee) McAnnally and Phillip McAnnally; grandchildren, Lauren (Onur) Sazli and Rebecca McAnnally; great grandchildren, Logan Sazli, Regina Smith, and Dylana Smith; and sisters, Margaret Teal, Jimmie Lou White, Annette Batten, Cathy Jensen, and Deborah Ferrell.
